The Charis Community is sponsoring a Contra Dance at Grace Church | Red Hill and then planning to hold regular dances on the second Friday of the month starting in September. Contra Dance will be led by Compton Donohue and Charlottesville Contra Dance.

Beginner lesson from 7-7:30 pm

Dancing from 7:30-10 pm

Entry Fee: Minimum Donation: $10 (proceeds to benefit Blue Ridge Abortion Fund and Oshun’s Hands)

COVID Safety Protocols:
Bring proof of COVID vaccination or negative Covid test required at door.
N95 or KN95 mask required.

Description: Contra dancing is a style of folk dance made up of long lines of couples. This is a beginner-friendly dance with a lesson from 7-7:30 and a caller giving instructions throughout. Come with or with out friends - there will be plenty of people to dance with. All ages and all skill levels are welcome. We strive to be a friendly and inclusive community that enjoys listening and dancing to live music.
