On April 14th at 6 pm, GCRH observes Maundy Thursday which commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles. "Maundy" comes from the Latin word mandatum, or commandment and reflects Jesus' words "I give you a new commandment." During the meal, Jesus demonstrated this commandment by washing the feet of his disciples. Maundy Thursday initiates the Paschal Triduum, the three-day period commemorating the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
