On Wednesday, MOI will meet for our annual "Touchstone Soup" gathering. Making Touchstone Soup entails each participant sharing their touchstone/north star word (or phrase) for the coming year. Your touchtone word represents a quality/value/sensibility you aim to cultivate in the coming year. Your word isn't a goal or resolution. It's more like a lens with which to consider your day-to-day choices and priorities. Selecting your word can be a playful practice, no need to belabor your word choice. If you don't have a strong sense of your best word to choose, bring a word to try out. You can change it later if another word calls to you more.
More details on our Touchstone Soup ceremony:
Bring one word (or short phrase) that expresses a quality or overarching aim you wish to bring to fuller embodiment and fruition in the coming year. Write the word down in large print on a 3x5 card or half-sheet of paper. (Pens and cards will be available at the gathering.) We'll start with a go-round, in which we each introduce our word and explain its significance. Then we'll contemplate themes and contrasts in our constellation of touchstones. We'll end up creating a collage of all the words shared. That's the Touchstone Soup!
