This Sunday, Emily Little and the children of GC|RH will lead a special Blessing the Animals service at 10:30 am.
Families with children are encouraged to arrive at 10 am for a special story and songs about St. Francis. Children can also bring special stuffed animals. Everyone is invited to bring their pets for this special outdoor service!
Saint Francis of Assisi was a 13th century Catholic friar remembered for his love of God’s creation. His feast day is traditionally celebrated on October 4th which also coincides with World Animal Day, an international of action for animal rights and welfare. Many congregations recognize the Feast of St. Francis by offering some form of blessing for all animals, from family pets to wild creatures.
